Why convert PNG to JPG?
JPG is widely supported and often produces smaller files for photographs. It uses lossy compression, so converting PNG to JPG may reduce fine detail. PNG is usually preferable for transparent graphics or screenshots with sharp text.
Will transparent areas remain transparent?
No. JPG has no transparency support. Transparent pixels are flattened onto the background color you select (white by default).
